Boracay with Kids
🏝 Honest family travel guide
Boracay can work for families but requires more planning — here's everything you actually need to know before booking: kid-friendly attractions, where to base yourself, stroller realities, and which months to avoid with young children.
Why Boracay is harder with kids
- ✦Beaches keep kids entertained
- ✦Nightlife-heavy vibe (less ideal for young kids)
- ✦Costs stay reasonable for 4+ people
Best things to do with kids in Boracay
White Beach — 4km of powder sand (Station 1 is quietest)
Paraw sailboat sunset cruise
Puka Shell Beach at the quieter north end
Island-hopping tour — Crystal Cove + Crocodile Island snorkelling
Willy's Rock at low tide
Where to stay with kids
For families, apartment rentals beat hotels almost always — kitchen access means breakfast at your own pace and saving on every meal. Look for places with elevators (not all European apartments have them), washing machines, and walking distance to a park or playground. Boracay is amazing value for families — full villas with pools available for less than a hotel room in Europe.
Practical tips for Boracay with kids
Fly into Caticlan (10 min to the jetty), not Kalibo (2h bus). On the island, e-trikes run the main road for ₱20–150 — agree the fare first.
A baby carrier may serve you better than a stroller for crowded areas and stairs in older buildings.
Chori burger (chorizo burger) from the Station 2 grills is the island classic. Buy fresh seafood at D'Talipapa market and pay a nearby restaurant ₱200 to cook it your way. Dinner culture is family-friendly in most local spots — staff is usually welcoming to kids.
Water-sports touts on White Beach overquote then add "damage" or "fuel" charges — book activities through licensed booths and photograph gear beforehand. The ₱300 environmental fee at the jetty is legitimate.
Best months to visit Boracay with kids
For families, weather matters more than for solo travellers — extreme heat or cold turns a fun trip miserable fast. The best months for a family trip to Boracay are November, December, January. Avoid June–October (habagat monsoon + closures) — uncomfortable weather is hard on young kids.
How many days do you need with kids?
Adults can pack Boracay into 5 days easily. With kids, plan for 7–8 days minimum — you'll do fewer activities per day (one major sight is enough), build in pool/park afternoons, and need recovery days between big outings.
